Teen pregnancy is a well known concern across the world, not only in developing countries but with teenager s in school in the western world. When families are faced with realities like these it is important that everyone is there for each other. This greatly impacts the teenager s involved, their families, and the baby. So how does this issue affect everyone socially, emotionally, economically, and how does it affect the baby s development? There are many support centres that can help families and teens to deal with the conflicts they have to face ahead of them. Instead of the full picture, all we see is the cute baby and the celebrity mom. a teen from a teen pregnancy pact in Ma ssachusetts who agreed to get pregnant all together with their friends; and those who found out they weren’t pregnant said they were disappointed (Englander, 2010). It can be said that as a result the 7% of women who do not use contraceptives account for the 53% of unintended pregnancies (Nasso,2011). Being a teenager in high school can be very difficult with the pressure from parents, teachers, friends, and the media. Some mostly blame the many forms of entertainment from songs and music videos to television shows and movies which can often be quite sex-saturated. As others believe it is pressure from society and friends and teens not wanting to feel abnormal or unwanted. When a teen first learns about their pregnancy and the obstacles they are faced with many are scared, in shock or in denial of their situation. Birth order Have you ever wondered why you and your siblings never get along, or why you are so different? I wondered the same thing until I read an article about birth orders effects on personality. This had to be why she had never spent an hour away from my parents and I haven’t willingly been within thirty feet of them since I was six, Why I love to read well above my grade level and my sister, a sixth grader, reads mainly Captain Underpants books when not glued to the T.V. and why we are a similar as oil and water. Those who, like me, are the eldest in their family share many traits with only children because we were once only children. We share traits such a confidence and our perfectionist mentalities. Unlike them though we of leaders and have probably have been called a goodie-goodie at least once in our lives due to our fear of disappointing people. Women Who Changed The World: Rosa Parks Essay Women Who Changed The World: Rosa Parks Essay There were many women who have changed the world in the fields of math, science, sports, music, writing and leadership. Rosa Parks was a leader to help the blacks become equal to whites. Eleanor Roosevelt was also a leader because she helped the poor. Harriet Tubman was also a leader which helped free black slaves. I am going to tell what Rosa Parks did to help the world be a better place. Parks, Rosa Louise (1913- ), civil rights leader, born in Tuskegee, Alabama. She attended Alabama State College, worked as a seamstress and housekeeper, and was active in the Montgomery Voters League and the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) Youth Council. In 1943 she was elected secretary of the Montgomery branch of the NAACP. In a celebrated incident in 1955 she was arrested for violating segregation laws when she refused to give up her bus seat to a white passenger. This resulted in a boycott of the bus system by blacks, with Martin Luther King, Jr. leading the movement. In spite of harassment the boycott continued, and in 1956 segregated seating was challenged in a federal lawsuit. Within a few months bus segregation was ruled unconstitutional, and the buses were officially desegregated in December 1956. Parks, who had lost her job because of the boycott, moved to Detroit, Michigan, the following year, and again took in sewing. She also worked as a fundraiser for the NAACP. In 1965 she was hired by Congressman John Conyers, Jr., also a civil rights leader, to manage his Detroit office. She remained active in the NAACP and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). In 1987 she founded the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self-Development, offering guidance to young blacks. She won the NAACPs Spingarn Medal (1970) and the Martin Luther King Jr. Award (1980), as well as an honorary degree from Shaw College. I think that without Rosa Parks or any other men or women who tried to stop the racism against blacks has helped our nation in a big way.
